Nice place the food is fantastic, the service is fast and the ambiance elegant. Would be back for the steak.
A charming and classy environment. The food quality and service is exceptional. The lamb chop is well prepared and their Duck was tasty. I would make a two recommendations: 1-it was hard eating the Duck and Lamb Chop out of the tin bowls. I recommend they bring it out in a plat bowl, and 2-a sauce of some sort as an option for the Bok Choy. Overall a truly sophisticated experience.
Overall: Amazing food. We went with a super large group (14 people) and they were very helpful in ensuring everyone got to try everything. I'd certainly recommend for a special experience or a large group party, but wouldn't say it's somewhere I'd go to often. It's a place for an occasion - as it is very expensive. It seems to have a lot of bad reviews, which I don't agree with. Reservation: Invited by a friend, so I'm not sure how easy or difficult it was. Service: Very fun! The staff were very kind and entertaining. Ambiance: We sat inside and it's a nice restaurant. A bit loud but overall solid experience. Food: Amazing! Every bite was great and they were very accommodating to the group with various dietary restrictions. There was a ton leftover, so we luckily got to eat it for a few days!
Not as innovative and cutting edge as it once was, Mr. Chow is solid, consistent and very good. Always great hospitality and service. The cocktails are excellent. The vibe is always great, particularly on Friday and Saturday evening. Not winning any prizes, always pricey, but still a treat.
I had the best sea bass of my life and the potstickers (pictured) were a delicious work of art. The lobster shumai were an unusual treat, although more a novelty for the texture than flavor over more traditional shrimp. The staff were amazingly attentive, including repeated breadcrumb service and involvement of the manager with zero issues. We routinely had 3 staff removing or presenting dishes simultaneously. Ambiance was charmingly old world New York. Felt like a hot spot, though we dined on the earlier side and it still managed to feel intimate in our quiet corner booth. It was a wonderful New York experience.
